ADOPT A FIRE HYDRANT NEAR YOU!
Living here in Pagosa Springs, it's not hard to believe it snows, and sometimes quite heavily. Digging out of the driveway is quite a common sight after the plows go through. The one thing I don't see too often is neighborhoods digging out their closest Fire Hydrant.
During the Winter and especially around the Holidays, house fires can be a devasting thing. If the closest Fire Hydrant is buried under snow it can take longer for the Fire personnel to start dousing the fire losing more precious time.
If you adopt a Fire Hydrant in your neighborhood and make sure it is cleared of snow during the Winter you can possibly help someone save their home and maybe even someones life. |
