We have all heard the saying _____ don't turn in _____. That could be team-mates, cops, lawyers, servicemembers etc. But the thing that gets me is when you hear about a fellow agent doing things that are not so..... how do I say this?..... nice?

I recently had a conversation with a friend of mine and she told me the following story: I'll call her "Laurie"

Laurie's son was down the street playing with a neighbor's kid and this neighbor's home was on the Market. An Agent had shown up with prospective buyers to show the home. As the showing progressed, the Agent overheard Laurie's son make a remark about how his folks had thought about selling their home. The Agent asked Laurie's son which home was his. He pointed it out. His home just happened to be the one that the Agent's Buyers had admired earlier, as they were driving down the street.

A couple of hours later, this Agent shows up at my friends home with an offer on their home. Laurie was not only taken by surprise, but she was completely caught off guard when the Agent demanded they see the inside of the home. Laurie is a sweet lady and she doesn't like confrontation, so she hesitantly agreed. After showing Laurie's home, this Agent told Laurie that they HAD to accept this offer or make a counter-offer. Laurie quickly found her husband and the two spoke in private for a few minutes.

They went outside to speak with this Agent and said they were not selling their home. This Agent threatened to sue them for the loss of her commission. This Agent then had the audacity to say that she deserved a payment for showing Laurie's home. Laurie and her Husband convinced the Agent to leave. The Agent said, "This isn't over" Laurie was at a loss and has been waiting to hear from this Agent or the Agent's Lawyer or whoever....

I asked Laurie if she had spoken to the Local Board or to the State Board about this incident. She said no. I asked her why. She said she didn't want to get involved. She asked me what to do. I told her to call the State and Local Boards to file a formal complaint. I also told her that I wouldn't be able to file a complaint because I wasn't the party involved. I hope she does the right thing.
